Anxiety

I like to think of anxiety like being continuously pushed underwater by waves. At times the waves are small and you can swim right past them. But sometimes they are so big all you can do is wait them out until they knock you off your feet. You’re constantly fighting through the tough water to catch your breath but keep getting pushed under by the waves.

Anxiety can be described as feeling overwhelmed, worried and stressed all at the same time.

Anxiety causes us to be affected mentally and physically. From sweaty palms to a racing heartbeat. It can be the twisted feeling you get in your stomach like you tripped going down the stairs. Or the repetitive thoughts of “I should have: said that differently, told them how I felt, spoke up for myself”. Anxiety can complicate the small things you have to do every day from writing an email to socializing with strangers or even familiar faces.

It can be difficult to welcome this anxiety as if it were a guest in your house but just like the waves they are not permeant. As your anxiety ebbs and flows you can learn the size of the waves and move with it, not against it. Let’s learn the proper equipment to overcome these waves of anxiety.
